IFTRA Trans Tasman 2018

New Zealand hosted the IFTRA conference in April 2018 at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.

Day one of the conference focused on teacher capability and its measurement, with particular focus on different perspectives on capability.

Day two of the conference focused on teachers and child protection, and delegates had the opportunity to discuss ATRA research into causes of teacher misconduct, commentary from child protection agencies, and international policy responses and implications for teachers.

Over the two days, conference delegates heard from a variety of stakeholders, including the Minister of Education, ITE experts, researchers on teacher practice, and members of the ATRA and IFTRA collectives.
